Democratic, the American I am

The touch, lighted at no comparison bless-
Emission beaming heavenwards the identity-
identity, defining the earth to the Milky-way humanity
In common strand, it is not practical or common-
This light, shines to honor the greatest of great and greatness-
It is the star, great constancy, the American I am-

Though democratic, it is not the fire lit in Washington’s eye-
Republican, and it is not the horn blowing from Jefferson’s mound-
Yet the spark and jam,
the combination string,
nothing compares-
In common strands, only democracy proceeds,
practically and exclusively-
the government of the people
by the people for the people-  is summit-
Democracy burns intensely bright blue, like the American I am-

Win or lose-
democracy takes democratic politicking on the road-
Win or lose-
democracy takes republican politicking on the road-
At composure-
the injection of winner and of looser-
the hurricane fades-  allowing-
Democracy to pans for gold, silver and honor-

And at the presidential duel-
the dwelling of democracy endures-
Hemming the limits-
of politicking for politics sake-
Neither tear nor laughter
recedes the concourse-
win or lose-
democracy is presidential as the American I am-

The beacon, assembled high and lighted-
Emission is starry, competing the Northern Star-
I am light at the highest pinnacle-
I dome over the skyscrapers pinnacle- lights-
This luminous luminescent brightens the world
As the beacon of democracy burns,
burns intensely bright blue like the American I am.
